A Talk by Donald MacIntyre
Thursday 20th March 2025 – 7.30pm
Limpley Stoke Village Hall

Donald MacIntyre is the CEO of Emorsgate Seeds, a family business producing wild seeds. Established in 1980 by Donald, and now farming wild seeds on 800 acres, they are the oldest and largest producers of wild seeds in the British Isles. They have wild seed farms local to us near Bath (on alkaline soils) and near King’s Lynn in Norfolk (on neutral soils) and have held a Royal Warrant for the supply of wild seeds to HM the King (formerly the Prince of Wales) since 2014.
Donald will talk about the nature and climate crises and how we can all do our bit to restore nature by planting native wild species in our gardens and communities. He will draw on the latest botanical science and opinion, and real-world practical knowledge, to share his knowledge of creating and restoring species-rich meadows and wild vegetation, whether it is for a garden, woodland, field, urban space or simply to gain a greater understanding of the history and renovation of Britain and Ireland’s rich and diverse meadows – an intrinsic part of our natural and cultural heritage. Donald also has past links with Limpley Stoke, so will include a few memories from times gone past!

Entrance is FREE. Donations on the night are welcome.
Copies of Donald’s book, ‘Restoring the Wild’, will be available for £24.
Doors open at 7pm and there will be a small bar (card payments available) with proceeds going to the Village Hall. Parking is available in the car park of the old Rose and Crown at the junction of Middle Stoke and the A36. Please check the status of the A36 near the time, given the recent roadworks.
