Freshford & District Horticultural Society

Another visit by one of our favourite speakers, Mary Payne, who is known by her regular question and answer programme on Radio Somerset and previously Radio Bristol. Mary has a really tiny garden which was open for the National Gardens Scheme for many years and has been teaching gardening classes at South Cadbury Garden Centre, for quite a while. She has been involved in 6 Gold Medal winning exhibits at Chelsea and Hampton Court and in 2004 was awarded the MBE for services to horticulture in the South West.

Many of us garden on a hillside and are obliged by the terrain to divide our gardens into smaller areas, using paths, hedges and walls as necessary; so even if our gardens are large, we may be able to gain ideas and inspiration for our own plots from Mary’s talk.

Members free      Visitors £3.00

Everyone welcome.
