Derrick Hunt is Chairman of the Somerset Coal Canal Society and member and volunteers in several local community organisations
He will tell us about the Somersetshire Coal Canal which was planned to be built from Bradford on Avon to Poole in Dorset with a view to joining up access to the Bristol and English Channels. It was also intended to connect the counties of Dorset and Somerset into the canal network.
